This past week, my BFF riding buddy, Mike Jarvis, and I set out on a trip down to Lake Powell from Salt Lake City. We left on Wednesday, with the temps in the 30's, and upon arriving at Lake Powell, it had warmed up to 80.
The next day we left for home. Weather was pretty enjoyable until we left Price, Utah through Spanish Fork Canyon. Part way down we hit the mother of all storms.
I've ridden in a lot of rain storms, and I've ridden in a lot of wind storms, but I have never ridden in a storm that had the extreme of both. We had torrential rain and hail, along with wind gusts up to 60 to 70 miles an hour, coming at us face on, then on the left, then on the right.
It was a little white-knuckle for awhile.
Needless to say, we made it home in one piece. But, it was great to ride after a long winter's nap.
Until next time...
